Terms of service
The agreement between you and us when you use Indian Wedding Invites to make, send and pay for wedding invitations.
Updated 31 October 2026
Who we are
Indian Wedding Invites is run by Preet Software in Auckland, New Zealand. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean Preet Software, and “you” means the person using the service. You can reach us at support@indianweddinginvites.com.
Your account
- You need an account to make an invitation, and you must be 16 or older to have one.
- Keep your sign-in to yourself. You're responsible for what is done with your account.
- The person who starts a wedding is its owner. The owner can invite up to 5 co-hosts, who can change everything on the wedding's invitations, manage its guests and publish. The owner is responsible for what their co-hosts do on the wedding.
What's free and what you pay for
- Making a wedding, trying every design on your own card and publishing an invitation with a free design cost nothing.
- Signature and Heirloom designs are paid once for each wedding, at the prices on our pricing page. A wedding started by 28 February 2027, New Zealand time, pays founding prices, and one started later pays list prices. A payment covers every invitation in that wedding, with that tier's designs and the ones below it. Upgrading a wedding from Signature to Heirloom costs the difference between the two prices.
- Prices are in the currency of the country you're in when you go to pay, which we tell from your internet connection: New Zealand, Australian, Canadian, Singapore or US dollars, pounds, euros or Indian rupees. Anywhere else, they're in US dollars. They include GST or VAT where it applies, and in the US and Canada sales tax is added at checkout. If your bank converts the amount, it may charge its own fee.
- Our order process is run by our online reseller, Paddle.com, which is the merchant of record for every order. Paddle takes your payment, charges any sales tax and sends your receipt, and its own terms of sale also apply to your payment. We make the designs, run the service and handle refunds under our refund policy. There's no subscription, and nothing renews.
- You pay the price shown when you pay. If we change our prices later, that doesn't change what you've already bought.
Refunds
If you change your mind, ask by your refund date and we refund you in full. Your refund date is 14 days after you pay, or 7 days before your first event if that comes sooner, and we show it before you pay. If something we sold you doesn't work, consumer law covers you after that too. Our refund policy sets out how both work, and what happens if your wedding is called off.
Your content
- You own what you put into the service: your names, events, venues, wording and guest list. You let us store it, show it to the people you send links to, make link previews and calendar entries from it, and copy it as running the service needs. That permission ends when you delete it.
- Only add what you have the right to share. Add guests only to invite them, and keep their details to what the invitation needs. Our privacy policy explains what we do with them.
- Check your invitation before you send it. We print the dates, times and addresses you enter, as you enter them.
What you can't do
Don't use the service to:
- break the law, or help anyone else break it;
- harass, threaten, deceive or pretend to be anyone;
- send invitations to events that don't exist, or send scams or spam;
- post hateful, violent or sexually explicit material;
- guess other people's links, get round paying, overload or attack the service, or copy the designs out of it.
If you do, we can take an invitation offline or close the account. Unless the problem is serious or the law stops us, we'll tell you first and give you the chance to put it right.
Our designs
The designs, artwork, animation, sound and software in the service belong to us or to the people who license them to us. While you use the service, you can use the designs for your own wedding's invitations and share your card, including screenshots and recordings of it. You can't copy the designs out to use anywhere else, sell them, or make your own designs from them.
Guests and links
- You decide who gets a link. Each guest's personal link is hard to guess, but anyone it's forwarded to can open it. The invitation's plain address, without a personal code, shows the invitation to anyone who has it.
- We never send anything to your guests. You send their links yourself, for example on WhatsApp.
- We erase your guest list and replies 90 days after your last event. After that, a personal link opens the plain invitation.
Keeping the service running
- Your invitation stays online until you take it offline or delete the wedding. We work to keep invitations opening and replies recording, but we can't promise the service will never be interrupted, for example during maintenance or a fault at one of our providers. Tell us when something goes wrong, and we'll fix it as quickly as we can.
- We may change and improve the service. We won't take away anything you paid for from a wedding before its last event.
- If we ever close the service, we'll email everyone with an account at least 30 days before, so you can download your guest list, and we'll refund in full anyone whose wedding's last event hasn't happened yet.
Your rights under consumer law
If you use the service as a consumer, the law gives you rights that these terms can't take away, such as those under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986 in New Zealand, the Australian Consumer Law, and the consumer law of the UK and the EU. Nothing in these terms limits them.
If you use the service for a business, for example as a wedding planner working for a couple, the Consumer Guarantees Act doesn't apply, and you agree that it's fair and reasonable for it not to.
Limits on our liability
- As far as the law allows, our total liability to you for anything to do with the service is the larger of what you paid for the wedding concerned and NZ$100.
- As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for loss that wasn't a reasonably foreseeable result of something we did wrong.
- These limits don't apply to loss caused by our fraud, deliberate wrongdoing or gross negligence.
Stopping
You can stop using the service at any time. The owner can delete a wedding from its People page, and you can delete your account at the foot of Your invitations. Deleting your account deletes the weddings you own, except that a wedding with co-hosts passes to the co-host who joined first. To take that wedding down too, delete it before you delete your account.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, and we'll change the date at the top when we do. If a change affects you significantly, we'll email you at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you don't agree with it, you can stop using the service and delete your weddings.
Law and disputes
New Zealand law governs these terms, and the courts of New Zealand can hear disputes about them. If you live in another country, you keep the protection of its consumer law, and you can bring a claim in its courts.
If something goes wrong, email us first so we can try to put it right. We reply to complaints within two working days and aim to resolve them within a month.
